Lift Chairs

Adaptive shops offers quality Lift Chairs to help with those who need mobility aid and medical support.

Lift chairs have come a long way, since their first introduction into society. In my younger years my grandmother, a sufferer of Rheumatoid Arthritis had a very difficult time getting in and out of her chair. Back then the “lift chair” was a spring loaded seat, which over time, lost its springiness.

Today, technology has produced lift chairs that are much more capable of assisting the elderly and/or disabled in doing what every one of us does many times in a day; sitting down in a chair and getting up again. Most take this simple movement for granted, but for the elderly or injured, this can be a daunting task if no assistance is available.

Lift chairs take the place of that “assistance”, which in turn frees up a caregiver so that they can focus on other duties. Here are just a few reasons for acquiring this functional piece of furniture:

•Caregivers can avoid injuring themselves assisting their charge in and out of the chair
•Massage and heating elements (on select models)
•Quiet and smooth lift system
•Weight capacity (depending on the model) of 375 or 400 pounds

As you can see, there are many reasons to own this type of chair. The only question you should have after purchasing one is, “why did I wait so long to do this?”
